TOPIC: menu items are not shown

Hi,
I am new to Joomla. I installed the 3.3.1 version on the server, uploaded the JF vihera template and set two menu items. If I go to the front end just the default menu item appears. Now if I switch to another template, I have both menu items. Any ideas why that is?
