TOPIC: Getting started

Getting started 03 Sep 2017 07:08 #10555

Hi everyone, I am a real newbie to designing my website. I have a very simple website to design and I really like the hub template. But I really do not know how to start using it to build my website. I have read the joomla documents and have some idea about the content I need for my four page site. My main issue at the moment is how to use my own images for the background and adding images to my pages. Perhaps this is not possible? Any advice would be really welcome - but please keep it simple as I haven't done this before.

Hi, sorry for the delay, i am trying to replace the images that came with the template with my own. this would be on all the pages or sections. i have downloaded the manual but i can't work out how to change the parameters in the module manager of joomla - this is because i don't get the list of all the 12 positions from the template. so for example, attached is the screenshot of my page at the moment. as you can see there are no images at all. i really can't work out how to include my own images and the documentation from joomla is not helping me.

sorry - i am really a novice - what is the way to do this? i have got it on my localhost, and i have a hosting service - is that where i upload it through? otherwise, i can build a dummy site on joomla.com using one of their templates (i have part built one already at ganael.joomla.com)

i really appreciate your help.

ok, i have been exploring some more - i think one of the problems i am having is that i didn't download the slideshow module....i have downloaded that one now. i will have another go at my website offline and making new modules in my site. i used to use joomla some years ago so i am still relearning how to use it. it is coming back slowly. thank you for your help so far as i would really like to use your template for my site.
