TOPIC: multilenguage mainmenu

multilenguage mainmenu 26 Jun 2013 21:35 #2255

Hi,
I'm trying texturia for a multilanguage website on joomla 2.5.11
I've created a mainmenu for all languages (with just one item) and few different menus for each lenguage, each with its default home page.

I've placed the language selector in headright.

This usually is enough to make it work.

Because it seems not to be working, I've tryied a different way.
I've copyied the template, one for all languages and one for each of the available languages and choosed wich menu items to display.

This seems not to be working neither.

Can you explain how to reach the goal of have this template working in multilanguage websites?

Thank You!

Cesare

Hi Cesare, i don´t think this issue is related to the template.
Can you show us a link to your website, so we can check?

Are u using Falang component for translations?
Any other extension installed? (for example AceSef)?

I've solved the issue using falang.
The thing I've noticed is that the mainmenu has to be named mainmenu (haven't found where I can choose a different one).
So if I don't have a manu named mainmenu nothing is showed.
If there's a mainmenu it is always showed even on other languages.
I've also tried to have the mainmenu with all the languages links inside, but all of them are showed dispite of the language selected.

I've found on other threads the same problem and the solution was to use falang.

If there's not a native support for languages I'll keep this way.

Thank you!

Cesare

You mean it´s ok now?

You have to modify the code in the file index.php of the jf-texturia template.
-> templates/jf_texturia/index.php

Line 16
$menuname = 'mainmenu';

change to
$menuname = 'yourname';

that´s all.
