TOPIC: Missing main content area

Missing main content area 17 Apr 2015 15:29 #6554

Hi, I've figured out, through trial and error, that I can get articles to appear in the main content area of the template by marking the articles as 'featured'. That's a standard joomla article, not a K2 item.

Now, I would like to show some content in the main template area depending on what menu item is pressed. For instance, I might want to show a particular module when the user presses the MyModule menu item. When I configure that module I have to provide a position. There is no position available for the main content area. I can display the module in the bottom-content area but it doesn't look right.

How can I get access to the main content area using this template?

thanks.

You can create a new module position in main content area.

Yes, I guessed that it would be possible to do this. The question is, how?

Edit templates/jf_taman/templateDetails.xml file, find <positions> tag and add this:

Edit templates/jf_taman/index.php file, after [<]jdoc:include type="component" /[>] add this:
