How to set an #anchor in home page ? 19 Nov 2015 11:46 #7764

Hi guys, as said in previous posts, I find your latest template great. I wanted to make a modification and would love to understand the following:

currently the "Location" menu gets you, in the homepage, to the google map, via an #anchor. I would like to change this, and make the "sponsors" menu point to the homepage where the "Full HTML5 video" block is shown.

How can I achieve than, what file/part I need to modify ? I'm not an expert in php nor templates building.

Thanks!!

regards

AG

In back-end, go to Menus -> Main Menu -> edit menu item to change anchor. You can find anchors in templates/jf_event-up/index.php. These are id of element. Example:
<div id="sponsors">
<div id="location">
...

Thank you for using our template!

Hello there I wanted to thank you and confirm that the suggestion is perfect and it works. The template even has already a #video anchor ready so setting it up was a piece of cake.
Thanks again!
Regards Andrea.

Hi Claudio, I'm responing in English to make sure the whole forum community can benefit from the answer. The key help here is the suggested procedure:

In back-end, go to Menus -> Main Menu -> edit menu item to change anchor. You can find anchors in templates/jf_event-up/index.php. These are id of element. Example:
<div id="sponsors">
<div id="location">

So, you can actually do 2 things here. One is to keep existing menu items, and have them point to existing sections of the template. To do so, you modify the menu entries as explained above.

Another way is to have menu items point to completely new sections. In this case you edit the template file under templates/jf_event-up/index.php and look for the lines that read items like <div id="name_of_the_anchor_here">

So you change the menu items to point to such sections. It is indeed easier to do than it seems.

Good Luck!
