I am trying to build a site using the creativia template. I want to create a page similar to the homepage where only the 'slideshow' module is active but no content in mainbody.

As an example, I am trying to incorporate my photography showcase portfolio on a page. Right now if I put in a module in the slideshow position, I can see the images, but it also renders out the three colums for the inner pages underneath the gallery. I would like the page to be the header, menu, gallery, and then directly under it, the social icons, copyright, etc.

Please help, I have been struggling with this for over 5 days now.

Hi, Is this the standard reply? I was very specific in what I want to achieve. Yes I have read the documentation and yes I did install the quickstart.

Like I said, I like the template and the functionality it offers. I need to do a very specific thing that quickstart does not cover. I am not trying to change the home page. I am trying to have another page that is similar to the homepage where the whole mainbody content block with the three columns is hidden and only the slideshow position is visible.

Any help will be appreciated.

Firstly, thank you for using our free template. If you want to create a new page with only slideshow, you should create a new page. Then, assign the slideshow module to that page and unpublish all modules which are assigned to that page. You should have the page without the columns.

That's what I can guide you to customize your page.

Since your request is a customization of the theme, I recommend you to use our custom service.

Thanks. This is really funny. Do you think I did not try that already? Also, since you are so eager to sell custom services, why don't you fix the basic Joomla functionality that is broken in your template? I cannot override the css by adding a pageclass suffix.

On another note, I hacked the template and made a solution for myself. What I ended up doing is checking the $itemid of the page on load and then assigning modules to the page based on the $itemid.

Thanks for the offer for custom services. I have seen this same sentence repeated over and over in the forum. Read the documentation, install quickstart, and then "oh this is a custom service you are asking for."
