TOPIC: multilingual site

multilingual site 01 Aug 2013 13:55 #2635

Hi there,
hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction (I'm a beginner):

I've been following this tutorial to make a bilingual site.

I did it once before on a Joomla site with no problems. But this time I got to the stage of having an English menu and a Dutch menu and I can't figure out how to get their home pages looking like yours (with banner and slideshow).

Your template is great btw - don't want to miss out the banner/slideshow bit!

Thanks

Your web url? You need separately to configure pages for languages. See your tutorial better by menu setup.

Hi and thanks for your reply,
I double checked the tutorial, I think I did everything ok.

The site is:
www.pavadita.com/newsite

(disclaimer:as you can see a work-in-progress, I still have to get my head around sorting the images out)

Also, I was wondering if there was a way to get the language switcher to come at the end of the menu, not underneath?

Thanks

#jf-mainnav ul.menu {float: right; display: inline;}
#jf-mainnav div.mod-languages {float: right; display: inline;}

Add this to your css file (/templates/jf-calla_exteriors/css/template.css) and sort modules in administration...

Thank you - this is how to put the language switcher in line, right?
Or also how I can get the banner/slideshow on home pages in both NL and EN home pages?

Hello and thanks again,
just wanted to say that totally worked for the menu and language switcher - looks much better!

Also (incase anyone else is reading and wondering) I followed the advice in this thread, and now I can put the slideshow module on my 2 home pages.
