TOPIC: Fetch data from another Website

Fetch data from another Website 20 Apr 2013 22:11 #1978

I am working on a small service that fetches data from another page. I would like to create a forum signature for Uberstrike characters for a small group in our community. I have not gotten very far despite my research attempts. I believe I will need to use cURL to accomplish this.

I'm stuck, I cannot wrap my head around how the following web-service was created, which is very similar to what I want to do:
live.gotcha-art.com/

and the resulting page here: live.gotcha-art.com/select/3122124

It references this database/webpage by the CMID:
uberstrike.cmune.com/CommonChannel/Profi....cmune.com%2FProfile

The index page allows users to type in their proprietary CMID#. Upon clicking the start button they are presented with a number of signature images with specific information about their character that updates periodically. I would like to mimic this service, but in my own way for a different purpose.

Might anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

All the best.

Very respectfully
Tony
