How to reduce SEO risk in migrations, domain changes, etc.

We often get requests for help about SEO management on the forum from people who need to migrate their website (e.g. for the forthcoming version 3.5), change domain name, or simply refresh their site with a graphic restyle and structural revamp to create new business opportunities.

In this initial article, I’ll be going through the various types of migration and the issues involved. It is important to bear all this in mind when undertaking any kind of migration.

Joomla Template Design

Joomla is different. It holds all the content within several MySQL database tables. What you'll be designing is the shell, which will eventually hold content when it is called from the database by a web user selecting a link on the site. At the same time, the layout and CSS you create for the template will be automatically applied across many pages (perhaps thousands) depending on how big the site is. This can be quite liberating and overwhelming, or frustrating at the same time.
